The final day of the 2018 AHR Expo has sadly come to an end. The expo was a whirlwind of a time and the Optergy Team had a blast over the 3 days, meeting and talking with various types of visitors.
To sum things up, the main issues we found when talking to building owners were:
- No visibility or notifications received remotely when things go wrong
- No cost recovery systems for after-hours air-conditioning or lighting
- Poor comfort conditions, mass complaints
- High vacancy rates
- Short-term leases
- High costs for energy, water and reactive maintenance
- Continuous deterioration of systems
We spent the final day giving demonstrations and consultations to the final visitors on many of the above-mentioned issues, providing solutions in energy and utility management, automatic monitoring and targeting systems, tenant billing and automated emailing of reports and bills.
Being able to assist these visitors to visualize a solution to solve these problems with a simple controller implementation was the highlight of the expo for us. As different visitors were experiencing many different issues, the amazement on their faces when they found out they could customize the controllers to provide the specific features they needed (and add on more as they saw fit), was something the team will definitely take away with them.

The Optergy Team are sad to see their time in Chicago come to an end. The past few days have gone by so quickly and we had an exciting and enticing time at the 2018 AHR Expo – Chicago. If you want to find out more about solving your energy monitoring and control troubles, contact Optergy President Steven Guzelimian to arrange a meeting.
We are coming to Sydney soon, we hope to see you there!
